Soundview Presbyterian Affordable Housing

Our design combines an expanded church and residential development to compliment one another. The 13,000 SF church has a new, more prominent presence on the corner of the triangular site and provides a base for the residential block that acts as a backdrop to it. A 10,000 SF community facility is set at the apex of the site, accessible from both the church and the street so that it can be used by both the local community and the church.

The residential development provides 86 affordable apartments, each with generous eastern or western exposures. The colored metal panels that adorn the facade are taken directly from the colors of the existing stained glass of the church. The building has been designed to Enterprise Green Community standards including solar panels, a green roof, and high-efficiency fixtures.
