This nineteenth-century townhouse was gut renovated including total reconstruction of the interior with new floors and a penthouse addition. The entrance stoop was restored from original historic photographs and in the rear, the house was opened up in glass to the generously scaled garden courtyard. The garden level includes the kitchen and family room, the main level is the living and dining room, served by a full townhouse-height new elevator. Upper floors include the master bedroom and four additional bedrooms. A sinuously curved oak-paneled stair winds up through the house as a sculptural element to unify the house.
