Bayonne Bay Urban Plan

This urban plan creates a vibrant new residential community on the Hudson River. Creatively responding to its waterside surroundings, the development embraces the natural beauty of the river, wetlands and working port.

The plan's central construct merges the peninsula's vibrant land and waterscapes by the insertion of view corridors running through the Maritime District to the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline beyond. Integration of a diverse range of modern and traditional building styles creates a sense of innovation and historical precedent befitting an international port city. Next to the river, a series of low-rise buildings look out toward the water across broad terraced courtyards and a sweeping riverfront park. Ten-story towers, offering unobstructed views of Manhattan, line the central avenue and rows of colorful town houses with interlocking facades and modulated rooflines face the port to the north. This project was developed in collaboration with Somerset Development and Ryan Home Builders.
