The expansion and renovation of this 1950s synagogue on Long Island reconfigures the existing building to reflect the congregation’s changing needs. The 34,000 SF complex houses pre-K through 12th grade educational facilities as well as religious and administrative spaces that no longer is large enough to serve the community. Our design seeks to create a greater sense of coherence within the building by grouping areas for similar activities into distinct sections. An 11,000 SF addition provides new classrooms, a chapel, main hall and multi-purpose space.
